Unveiling Makeup Artist Guild of Nigeria #MAGN.

Hey guys,

It has been a splendid month thus far even though I have been unavoidably absent, I had to take out time to visit the lastest addition to my family – my niece Anuoluwayikanmi. We bless God for this beautiful angel.

OK , so whats new ?? On Wednesday, we experienced a quantum leap in the makeup industry , it was the unveiling of guild governors of the of the Makeup Artist Guild of Nigeria #MAGN.

This is unarguably the dawn of a new era in the makeup industry, finally some level of regulation will be achieved through this platform.

MAGN is Nigeria’s makeup and beauty industry association that will bring passionate beauty forward professionals together.

The mission in plain English is to establish, promote integrity and raise high standards within our industry through the active participation of our members by offering a suite of benefits that will enhance their various enterprise.

The need for standardization and raising the bar arose as the industry began to experience a great number of makeup artists and also the sudden interest of international brand plying their trade Nigeria has necessitated the very crucial need for this institution. Professionalism, ethics of the trades and other very important tenets are needed to sustain the credibility and respect in the global market.

MAGN ‘s mandate is to be an active authoritative voice promoting integrity and high standards within the beauty industry.

The Governors Nominated selected based on a number of criteria are: Tara Fela- Durotoye, Banke Meshida Lawal, Bolanle Okusanya Feyita ,Eni Balogun Yewande Peregrino, Lolade Ogunjimi Bunmi Oyeniyi ,Kemi Uwaga, , Olusegun hakeem ,Bimpe Onakoya and Ebele Ugochukwu

They will serve as expert spokespeople to the Guild, they will also ensure the Guild remains relevant with the needs of its Executives and the industry at large. Advisers to the executives of the guild will provide support, inspire and motivate MAGN members.

  1. Its the dawn of a new era.kudos to u guyz….especially omolola faleye.cant but just ask God to grant her desires.MAGN is just the way to go…..

  2. So excited about this, and I pray this will grow even beyond our imaginations, congrats to all Governors and members, I am so interested in being an active member too. MAGN rocks!

  3. I love the initiative but don’t like the idea that it was kept only within a circle of people. And you wonder why there is no unity in the industry. Please Lola and Co look outside your circles, there are also great muas perhaps unknown to you who do a great job and need to be in this kind of events, not just your clique! Thank you and good luck

  4. @Mayokun Thanks for loving the initaive as this was addressed to me let me reply you .. i dont know where you are based , but if you are based in lagos i will ask just one question : have you ever attended the makeup and beauty connect series before ? ( 7 editions gone already) and if no i will advise you wait for the unveiling of the guild to the public as we havent done that yet. And if yes well i am sure you know it was thrown open for volunteers to participate and those who were interested and indicated interest reached out. Thanks a lot again for your comment . Best Regards

  5. Congratulations to your family on the newborn & thanks for sharing this information. Long Live Nigerian Makeup Artists!!

  7. I’m very excited for this impressive news. God will continue to guide and bless the work of our hand. Please, how do we MUA’s in Ibadan (oyo state) get updates on upcoming events and improvements in the association?

  8. this initiative is very nice and I absolutely love the idea. So quick question, how does one become a member? I am yet to find anything anywhere as regards how to become a member. if possible, a very active member. Kudos Misi

  9. This is a very good one. However, I’d like to know if beauty consultants especially those specialised in making handmade products can be a part of this guild. I’d love to be updated, thanks.
