Kate Somerville Skincare: Review

Kate Somerville is my new skin savior. and I am sure it’s a brand name you are NOT familiar with. Winter always does a number on my skin. Every year, like clockwork, my face becomes drier than usual. But this winter was different. My skin wasn’t just dry; it was flaking, a clear sign of dehydration.

I tried every skincare product in my arsenal, layering serums and slathering on moisturizers, but nothing worked. Therefore, my frustration grew until I decided it was time to seek professional help.

Meanwhile, with hope (and desperation) in my heart, I walked into Mecca, determined to find a solution. The moment I stepped inside, I explained my skincare struggles to a friendly beauty rep. He listened attentively before fetching a skincare consultant to assist further. I wasn’t leaving without a solution.

Initially, I mentioned that I was on a $50 budget but I was willing to step up if I had to because I had used all the skincare products I have for instance, my CeraVe and Nude by Nature products, which worked initially but during winter they did nothing for my skin.

First Impression of Kate Somerville Skincare

The consultant had other ideas. After assessing my skin and hearing my concerns, he recommended the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser, a luxurious product designed for sensitive skin. It cost $75, well above my budget, but he was confident it would be worth it. Honestly, I’d never heard of the brand before that day, but his enthusiasm intrigued me. Sensing my hesitation, he handed me a sample to try at home.

What happened next surprised me.

In fact, I was shocked. Within just two days of using the sample, my skin began to transform. The dryness and flakiness started to fade, replaced by a softness I hadn’t felt in weeks. It was as if my skin had finally found its match. By the end of day two, I was sold. As a result of that quick transformation, I headed back to Mecca and happily purchased the full-sized bottle of this magical cleanser.

The Pros and Cons of Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser

Pros:

  • Gentle yet effective: Perfect for sensitive, dehydrated skin like mine.
  • Instant results: My skin felt softer and looked healthier in just two days.
  • Luxurious experience: The creamy formula feels like a treat every time I use it.

Cons:

  • Pricey: At $75, it’s a splurge for most budgets.
  • No mini size: I wish they offered a smaller, travel-friendly version.

Is It Worth the Price?

Absolutely. This cleanser has become a staple in my routine, and I genuinely believe it deserves more attention. While it’s on the expensive side, the results speak for themselves. It’s not just a product; it’s an investment in your skin. Plus, knowing it’s an American brand sold exclusively at Mecca makes it feel a little extra special.
