Cleaning your makeup box and tools.

Howdy blog Fam ,

I see red all over , it’s the month of love and I have to quickly steal a few words of prayer to  say to all the lovers and expectant brides to be – He will propose in Jesus name and of ‘cos when he does make sure I get to beat your face  🙂 .Pardon me , I just couldn’t resist the sales pitch.

Ok so back to the business of the day , I have had a lot of people ask me how I carry my makeup products around and my answer to them is simple –  I use a  backpack. I got my Zuca backpack from Gifty’s daughter and ever since then ,  I pretty much go ever where with it (bridal job, photoshoot etc.)

I particularly  love to travel light, so I invested in a lot of PRO palettes as against  going everywhere with my entire makeup kit , trust me when  I say building a pro makeup kit costs a fortune so it only makes sense to use palettes which can easily help in taking a quick inventory after the job . The backpack also helps  to evenly distribute weight on my shoulder as against the makeup box that I carry with one hand that are more difficult to carry, I have several makeup boxes but I  seldom carry them and only use them for storage ,they tend more to announce you and give you away as a makeup artist. Finally, my Zuca backpack is very spacious and  can carry my camera and flat iron etc all at once.

I have seen some makeup artists’ boxes and I am so disgusted, they look like a hot mess with powder and lipstick stain everywhere – all i can say is eewwh!!!!. Cleaning your makeup tools and box is a MUST as dirty tools always breed bacteria, I can say this as a matter of fact that when your kit and box are neat and clean, your client is usually  confident and at rest . I make sure that after ever job I always clean up my tools using baby wipes and Alcohol to clean each product and I also wash my brushes .I don’t enjoy doing the cleaning but hey it’s what I  have to do.

Here’s what I have going ……

Also remember to use antiperspirant and freshen your breathe with minty sweet /gum before you handle a client.

How do you carry your makeup around? Do you wash your brushes after job? Makeup bag or Makeup box please share. I would love to know.

Till my next post.

Hugs and Kisses.

  1. Thanks for sharing sis. .The box looks so cute and handy. The best part of my makeup activities is the washing, cleaning and arranging of my box as I do this singing and and listening to music.

      • @Clement..Honestly youre the only one i know who loves washing brushes..good
@misidreads.. you know i have never really thought bout using the kitchen towels in making my Makeup box look neat…i always clean it everytime i see any streak of mess in it.. but the tissues make them look neater and you can deposit afterwards without messing the box compartments itself.
        Thank you sweet sis xoxo
