Hey, beauties,
Welcome to the Fashion Week season
It’s that time of the year when fashion week put together by different organizers takes center stage. We have 3 major fashion week series that are held every year. As is customary, the Lagos Fashion Week proudly kicks off first; it showcases all the talented fashion designers in the industry.
Yours truly was at this year’s Heineken Lagos Fashion Week held at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. Most importantly, I think it takes its rightful place as the foremost fashion show in Nigeria.
I am a huge fan of fashion shows, just too much fun to go around. You don’t believe me? Click HERE to see

Lagos Fashion Week is a fashion platform that has succeeded in showcasing new talents. Big talents are exported to the rest of the world.
Now, the world is keen to see what Fashion Week has to offer every single year. Loads of people travel far and wide to come and witness the true African fashion culture.
Firstly, this massive event has succeeded in bringing buyers, consumers, and the media together, in other words, it has helped to showcase collections of designers at the four (4) day event.
Secondly, as a leading fashion event in Africa, the event has led the way with initiatives that helped garner support for upcoming designers. Consequently, the yearly event has helped strengthen and develop the fashion industry.
Beyond the runway, the annual event provides a platform that has gradually re-positioned fashion in Nigeria. Similarly, the event has become a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria.

Talented Designers
This year’s event had talented designers and fashion stylists showcasing their beautiful designs. Similarly, foreign nationals are eager to have a taste of African fashion.
If you are by any chance a fashion lover and you couldn’t make it down. Trust me, you missed a lot. It provided an amazing platform for networking and inspiration.
I worked mainly backstage which for me most of the real action went down. After that, I also found time to peek at the runway in real time. The makeup looks were all keyed by the super-talented Bimpe Onakoya.
The official hair sponsor for the event was Darling Nigeria. They made it a duty to glam up the hair of all the models in attendance.
To sum it up, this year’s event was indeed top-notch. In other words, it was lit beyond measure.
